For some, this isolation period can be directly translated to mean Netflix and couch time. So, I am going to try and make sure that this doesn’t become the case for you! Don’t get me wrong, I will be spending my share of time on the couch and watching Netflix also (I will share some of my favourites in a later post), but amongst the scrolling and watching, we should all make sure that we are staying mobile and getting sufficient amounts of exercise.
Just as down time with your favourite series is important for mental health, so is physical activity.
Just because you shouldn’t leave the house, doesn’t mean that it has to come at a cost to your fitness and well-being. Not a gym person? Then why not use this downtime as an opportunity to explore what kind of exercise works best for you?
I understand that it is difficult finding motivation when you are not able to get to a gym or your usual boot camp class. I have you covered.
Zac Polglaze, a regular North Carlton Osteopathy patient and local Personal Trainer has taken the initiative to post his “Pandemic Workout Series” on his Instagram page for all to follow along with from home. Zac has experience working with athletes, having worked with the AFL Academy as the Head High Performance Manager for the Calder Cannons U16 program. He also works at F45 North Fitzroy, so he may be a familiar face to a lot of you!
Zac’s workouts are primarily body-weight based, whilst occasionally using household items such as back-packs to add resistance.
