We are delighted to announce we have purchased an infrared sauna from a local company – Solace Saunas!
Our Solace Sauna is a 2 person size, double-wall insulated Full Spectrum Sauna, hand built from premium timber. The Carbon heating panels are the safest, lowest EMF rated panels available. The sauna is located upstairs in our clinic in its own private room.
What does taking an Infrared Sauna feel like?
Stepping into Serenity: An Infrared Sauna Experience
You are greeted by a gentle, enveloping warmth. Unlike traditional saunas, which can feel overwhelmingly hot and stifling, the infrared sauna has a more comfortable, welcoming heat. It’s like being wrapped in a cozy blanket on a chilly day. The wooden interior adds a natural, calming vibe. You’ll feel a wave of relaxation wash over you.
Settling In: Deep, Penetrating Heat
You’ll notice the heat feels different—more penetrating. Infrared saunas use infrared light to heat your body directly, rather than heating the air around you. This means the warmth goes deeper into your muscles and joints, providing a soothing, therapeutic effect. After a few minutes, the tension in your shoulders and back will melt away – like the heat giving you a gentle, internal massage.
The Sweating: Detoxifying and Refreshing
Within about ten minutes, you will start to sweat. Not the drenching, uncomfortable kind of sweat you get from a traditional sauna. Instead, it feels like a gradual, purifying process. It’s actually refreshing, almost like a mini detox session. Plus, the controlled temperature ensures you won’t overheat, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.
The Atmosphere: Quiet and Meditative
One of the best parts of the infrared sauna is the peaceful, meditative atmosphere. The gentle hum of the infrared panels creates a soothing background noise, and the soft, ambient lighting adds to the tranquillity. Some people close their eyes and drift into a meditative state, focusing on breathing and letting go of any lingering worries – a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Other’s will play music or even an audio book through the built-in Bluetooth speakers.
Post-Sauna Bliss: Energized and Rejuvenated
After about 30 minutes, you emerge from the sauna feeling incredibly refreshed and rejuvenated. Your skin will feel smooth and cleansed. Some people notice an immediate boost in energy. It’s like hitting the reset button on your body and mind. The best part? You won’t feel the same post-sauna fatigue that sometimes follows a traditional sauna session. Instead, you’ll feel light, invigorated, and ready to take on the rest of the day.
Final Thoughts: A Must-Try Experience
If you haven’t tried an infrared sauna yet, we highly recommend it. It’s a unique, deeply relaxing experience that’s perfect for anyone looking to unwind, detoxify, and rejuvenate. Whether you’re an athlete seeking muscle recovery, someone in need of stress relief, or just curious about new wellness trends, an infrared sauna session might just be the serene escape you’ve been looking for.
So, next time you’re looking to treat yourself, consider stepping into the soothing warmth of an infrared sauna. Your body and mind will thank you!

Why experience an Infrared Sauna?
The Health Benefits of Infrared Saunas
Infrared saunas are gaining popularity as a wellness tool, providing a range of health benefits from pain relief to improved cardiovascular function. Unlike traditional saunas that heat the air around you, infrared saunas use infrared lamps to warm your body directly. This method can penetrate more deeply into the skin and offer a unique set of advantages. Here’s how infrared saunas can contribute to a healthier, more relaxed lifestyle.
Pain Reduction
Infrared saunas are particularly known for their ability to alleviate pain. The deep heat helps relax and loosen muscles, reducing muscle soreness and joint pain. Conditions like arthritis and fibromyalgia can see symptomatic relief through regular sessions, as the heat reduces inflammation and increases circulation, aiding in pain management.
Enhanced Recovery
Athletes and those with active lifestyles can benefit from infrared saunas for recovery purposes. The heat promotes muscle relaxation and increases blood flow, speeding up the recovery process by flushing out lactic acid and reducing muscle tension. This can be especially beneficial after intense workouts or physical exertion.
Sleep Improvement
Regular use of an infrared sauna can also lead to better sleep. The calming heat elevates the body’s core temperature, which can help to regulate sleep patterns. As the body cools down post-sauna, it sends signals to the brain that it’s time to sleep, thus facilitating a deeper and more restful sleep.
Stress Management
The soothing warmth of an infrared sauna provides a great way to unwind and de-stress. The heat stimulates the release of endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevators, creating a tranquil experience that can help reduce overall stress and anxiety levels. This mental relaxation is one of the key attractions for many sauna users.
Improved Cardiovascular Function
Using an infrared sauna is akin to mild exercise for the heart. The heat increases heart rate and blood circulation, similar to the effects of moderate exercise. Over time, regular sauna use can help lower blood pressure and improve heart function, contributing to better cardiovascular health.
Heat Adaptation
Exposure to the heat of an infrared sauna can help your body adapt to high temperatures, improving your tolerance to heat during physical activity. This adaptation can lead to improved performance in endurance sports and activities, especially in hot conditions.
Relaxation
Beyond the physical benefits, infrared saunas offer a sanctuary for deep relaxation. The gentle heat allows you to disconnect, meditate, and rejuvenate both mind and body. This can enhance overall well-being and help in maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
Infrared saunas provide a multitude of health benefits that can enhance your quality of life. From easing pain and accelerating recovery to improving sleep and reducing stress, the advantages of integrating sauna sessions into your routine are profound. As with any health regimen, it’s recommended to consult with a healthcare provider before starting regular sauna use, especially for those with medical conditions or pregnancy.
